Mariah is an augmented reality app that narrates stories of historical injustice. A special version created for Strikethrough prompts visitors to San Francisco Area sites of protest to learn about objects in the gallery and the history of other local movements. Download the iPhone app, then pick up a paper map at Letterform Archive or use the digital map on this page.
Update, Nov. 11, 2023– The Strikethrough exhibition is now closed and many of the Mariah stencils have now been washed or worn off, but you can still get a feeling for the project at 2023 STA 100 where Mariah was selected as a winner.
